Patient Research Forum

Our Patient Research Forum is group of patients and carers whose aim is to support clinicians in all aspects of their Research into Head & Neck Cancer and to ensure that the patient perspective is fully taken into account.patientResearchForumPhoto.jpg

The Patient Research Forum meets with clinical practitioners and research staff three times a year.

The role of the Patient Research Forum is:

  • To provide advice on research proposals from a patient/carer perspective
  • To act as patient/carer representative to help ensure consideration is given to their views/interests
  • To help ensure that research is patient/carer focussed
  • To provide suggested direction for future research

Patients and carers play a vital role in contributing to improvements in clinical practice, treatment and services.  They are also invaluable in providing a “patient experience” for major research proposals or clinical trials.

The Forum is also instrumental in identifying the research that we fundraise for.  Our efforts help raise much needed funds towards pilot projects and patient focused research that often fall outside the remit of the major national funders.

The Patient Research Forum actively seeks new members (whether they be patients, carers, fundraisers, friends).  So feel to attend the next Forum meeting, and you will be made very welcome. Details of our upcoming meetings are always prominent on our homepage.
